February is known for a lot of things - the shortest month on the calendar, the month of love, and the peak of Summer. But what it is least known for, is the all important and official #hotbreakfastmonth.
The ‘bacon and eggs’ is always an obvious and winning combo, but we have some other South African inspired brekkie ideas…
Fire up the pan (or the braai) and prepare the spread, you will need:
- Pork chops rubbed with olive oil, garlic + thyme
- Fried eggs (to your preference)
- Skinny boerewors
- Butter sauted mushrooms
- Grilled tomatos (thickly sliced)
- Tin of baked beans
- Fresh farm-style bread
- Salt, pepper + butter to taste
And a side of bacon if you just can’t do without.
